Participation in DownLine's programs does a major portion of the equipping. In addition, you are required to attend or watch online to the DownLine International Equipping Classes. This is a six session course (each session last between 15-25 minutes) that equips you for missions with DownLine (email Steve Winstead about upcoming classes). When taught live the six sessions are usually taught in two 1 and 1/2 hour seatings. The six sessions do not have to be viewed/attended in order and can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
In addition to these six sessions each team typically has 1-3 meetings that only includes the team. Also, each team will have an optional, yet highly recommended, training preview day. These dates will be set during the course of preparation.
Know that each person on the team will be assigned differing tasks. Some of the roles that people are asked to fulfill are observer/learners, prayer support, video, testimony, small group work, and teaching discipleship material.
For those asked to teach know that we will have you training and teaching at a level that stretches you, yet matches your abilities and experience. All trainers are required to teach the material at least 4 times locally before hitting the field. A DownLine approved previewer must be present for one of your previews. To properly prepare for a trip significant time is required. Please read the Teaching Preparation document for more information on preparing to teach.
