DownLine is a ministry that exists to enlighten and enlist Christians in the area of disciple-making. Maybe one of the greatest evils in our day is that the army of Christ sits largely stagnant in the pews each week, and DownLine seeks to aid in the training and equipping of that army to march. Its goal is to train men in disciple-making and create movements of discipleship all over the globe.
Each year approximately 50 men are selected from throughout the city of Memphis and around the nation to join DownLine Ministries for eight months that will change their lives! These men represent the diversity of the body of Christ crossing denominational, racial, and generational lines. The DownLine Institute's purpose is to equip these lay leaders to follow the strategy of Jesus Christ for world impact through multiplicative, multi-generational discipleship.
These eight months will train you in Bible, Biblical Manhood, Spirtual Life Formation, and Discipleship; you will be equipped and empowered to make disciples of Christ for the rest of your life. Every student has the opportunity and is encouraged to participate in a DL International trip at the conclusion of his eight months in order that he might experience what Christ is doing around the globe and be further taken by a passion for global impact. This trip will be the most strategic "missions" trip you have ever been on and will leave in motion an ever increasing disciple-making movement in its wake. We believe that this 1 or 2 week trip, alongside your new friends and teammates from the Institute, is as valuable itself as the rest of the program combined.
