About

Roy A. "Soup" Campbell founded Eikon Ministries in 1997 with a simple but powerful mission: change urban communities from the inside out. Since 1999, Campbell and his staff have lived in Memphis's Binghampton neighborhood, buying homes and planting roots in the community they serve. This commitment to place has shaped everything about his ministry approach.

Campbell's influence in Memphis runs deep, particularly through his work in discipleship and leadership development. In 2002, he began mentoring Kennon Vaughan (who later founded Downline Ministries), meeting with him at 5 a.m. on Campbell's front porch to study the Word and learn what it means to follow Christ. These early morning sessions became the foundation for Vaughan's own ministry calling.

As a speaker and teacher, Campbell focuses on the command to make disciples, breaking down this calling in ways that connect with people from all backgrounds.
